About Us
Kim grew up in the New Berlin Area and graduated from Marion HS. She graduated from Texas Lutheran and began teaching 2nd grade at Jefferson Avenue Elementary School. She later earned a master’s degree in administration from Texas State and was principal first at Jefferson in Seguin and then at Navarro elementary.
Since retiring in 2019, Kim has applied her leadership skills for the benefit of the New Berlin community. She serves on the New Berlin city council and is the former president of the New Berlin Community Club. Kim is also an associate member of the New Berlin Volunteer Fire Department and is instrumental in their fundraising efforts.
Kim’s strongest qualities are her empathy and integrity. She excels at understanding the feelings and perspectives of others and fostering an environment of trust. She is honest and ethical in her actions and earns the trust and respect of those around her.
Kim Strey Schlichting
Jeff grew up in the Seguin area and graduated from Marion HS. He graduated from Texas State with degrees in both Chemistry and Biology. He began his career as an analytical chemist in Austin where he performed testing for environmental remediation of government and industrial sites. He later joined DPT Laboratories as an electronic systems engineer responsible for validation and governance of electronic information used for the manufacturing and release of pharmaceutical products.
Since retiring from DPT Laboratories in 2023, Jeff has become active in the Seguin area. He served as an alderman for the City of New Berlin and is assistant treasurer of the New Berlin Volunteer fire department. Additionally, Jeff is a member of the Seguin Conservation Society and is actively involved in community theater at the Texas Theater.
Jeff’s strongest qualities are his understanding of technology and data analysis. Jeff earned his real estate license in 2012 and worked part-time as a realtor helping investors buy, rehabilitate, and then sell distressed properties. Jeff also earned a master’s degree in data science from UTSA where he developed predictive models to identify properties for his clients nationwide.

Jeff and Kim both graduated from Marion high school, went to college, and then married in 1986. They have one son, Zachary, who is a software engineer with a cybersecurity firm in San Antonio.
Kim and Jeff Schlichting have been actively buying and selling real estate as investors since 2012 and helping a handful of private investors do the same. After retiring from their education and corporate careers, Jeff and Kim have teamed up to form Jeff and Kim Schlichting, Real Estate (JKRE) to share our real estate expertise with their friends and neighbors. They build close relationships with clients to become trusted life-long real estate advisors.
